A laid-back and casual setting in the area of Mudhwa, Cocoparra will definitely remind you of Goa in a lot of ways. But it’s not only their ambience that sets them apart but it’s their food as well! Thanking Mr. Hatim Lokhandwala for this invitation, let’s start with the review.
A mix of two beautiful proteins, bacon and prawns is sure to make a tasty appetizer and that’s exactly how things were with the Bacon Wrapped Prawns. The taste of the fully cooked bacon and slightly crisp prawns made a good start! The Alio Fish Tikka was the HIGHLIGHT of the evening. Loved by all the bloggers, the fish fillets were packed with flavour and was finger licking good making us want more of it! The Crispy Eggplant with 3 dips made for an uniqueness on the table. Eggplant fan or not, this one is a must try this one. Light, non-soggy and perfectly golden crisp giving it the crunch and the dips making the perfect partners! The Slow Cooked Yogurt Garlic Chicken was to die for! The yogurt acting as a tenderizer made the chicken really flavourful and moist. On the other hand, the cheese jalapeno chicken tikka was a major let down (for me). The combination of these three elements just did not work for me. The Lemony Chickpea Stir Fry is a great starter. The distinctive taste of the lemon and the spices makes it a standout. P.S. – This is a healthy starter!
The tandoori chicken wings were a tad bit sweet and could be done with a bit of spiciness. On the other hand, the desi veg pizza was loaded with vegetables and had a thick tandoori roti base. Total desi, totally lovable!
The chicken bolognese lacked in two elements – The saucy base and the freshness of the fresh oregano crispy leaves. Although the spaghetti was well done, more sauce was required but luckily, the chicken was plenty! Making up for this one, the chicken steak was tender, moist, with a side of mixed vegetables and the creamiest dreamiest mashed potatoes. I think Aliya (Lobster Pasta Lady) will definitely agree with this one! And lastly, the Sri Lankan Chicken Curry is definitely must try dish for the curry lovers. The fragrant aroma, the vibrancy of the dish with the hint of pandanu leaves and coconut milk makes it a distinctive offering at Cocoparra!
